A
Season For Everyone
December 8, 2011
Excitement Builds at The Confederation Centre of
The Arts for The 2012 Charlottetown Festival
Today, The Charlottetown
Festival announces its 2012 playbill. The Confederation Centre of the
Arts, one of Canada's premier live theatre houses, brings together a
colourful array of comedy, legend, and romance through stories, dance
and music.
"This is such
an exciting time for the Confederation Centre of the Arts," says Jessie
Inman, CEO, Confederation Centre of the Arts. "For the past 47 years,
The Charlottetown Festival has presented an incredible line up of
theatre productions.
With this being my first launch as CEO, I'm
thrilled to be a part of what's going to be a sensational season! It is
a reminder to me of what an important role the Centre plays in providing
a place for Canadian performers and directors to showcase their
talents." Inman adds, "The Charlottetown Festival is a celebration of
outstanding excellence in the performing arts for both residents and
visitors to Prince Edward Island."
The Charlottetown Festival
runs June to September at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. One of this season's new shows pays
tribute to the legendary man in black with, Ring of Fire: The Music of
Johnny Cash.
Cashing in
on the emotional, sometimes funny and always soul searching music of
this Country Western legend, The Charlottetown Festival is excited to
bring to the Homburg Theatre Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash. Sit
back, relax and turn up the volume on what will be the musical concert
of the season.
Ring
of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash plays selected dates June 20 to
September 29 in the Homburg Theatre.
After a successful initial run of the
re-imaged AnneTM in 2011, theatregoers are invited to again treat their
senses to Prince Edward Island's summer family tradition, Anne of Green
Gables-The MusicalTM.

to upstage each other. Become a member of the studio audience in this
dysfunctional cooking show playing selected dates July 14 to September

season! The Man in Black's distinct style of music with storytelling at
its richest: A troubled but devout man, who found love and dignity,
touches each of us thru his music." Allan adds, "You won't want to miss
the Island favourite Come-All-Ye. Or, delight in the breathtaking
production of Anne of Green Gables-The MusicalTM and, if it's comedy for
you - the hilarious romp The Kitchen Witches has got to be one of your
